Adrian Spinelli, for ANMF (Vic Branch) Council

Adrian Spinelli

FOR BRANCH COUNCILLOR

He/Him

I’m a Nurse Unit Manager at Austin Health. Most of my career has been in emergency nursing. I now work in general medicine. I’ve been an ANMF Job Rep since 2012 and a Branch Councillor since 2023.

I became a registered nurse in 2009, inspired by volunteering as a teenager with St John Ambulance and witnessing nurses deliver compassionate care to everyone, regardless of their situation or background. That experience shaped my commitment to fairness, equity and advocacy in healthcare.

I became active in our union after my colleagues and I were impacted by rostering and EBA compliance issues. I’ve seen the power of collective action. When members unite, we improve our working conditions and outcomes for the people in our care.

I'm on my health service’s occupational violence and aggression committee working to improve how we manage behaviours of concern, and protect staff. I also represent members on our EBA workplace implementation committee to make sure they receive the improved pay and conditions they campaigned for.

I have fought to protect our ratios, and was there when the Safe Patient Care Act legislation was announced. Now, I’m focused on extending ratios across all workplaces, in all sectors, and improving the existing ratios to match the growing complexity and demands of our work. I’m passionate about building on members’ hard-fought gains.

Every member matters. That means safe staffing, fair pay, recognition and support, in every workplace, across every sector. That’s why I’m asking you to vote for the Maddy  Harradence Team.
