Statements of support

Lisa Fitzpatrick, ANMF (Vic Branch) Secretary, 2001–2025

"I urge every ANMF member to vote for the Maddy Harradence Team because I know that Maddy's team are honest, they have an extraordinary work ethic, they're passionate about our professions, and they encompass nurses and midwives from all sorts of cultural backgrounds, clinical settings and from metropolitan and regional Victoria.

They will all provide a strong voice and take the ANMF forward. Critically, Maddy, Nicole and Sam are experienced; they've been around the negotiating table; they've got the scores on the board already. They've got great initiative, great ideas, great integrity. And they're ambitious for our members, not for themselves.

They know that to be a successful union, the leadership has to work hard. It's a six-day-a-week job, and they are the people that will do it. Every member matters, and Maddy and her team will make sure that every member will be listened to, advocated for and represented."

Jilska Williams, retired nurse and midwife and ANMF Job Rep at Monash Medical Centre

“For 22 years I served as a union representative with the ANMF at Monash Health. I stood beside nurses during tough times, advocated for fairness, and fought to protect the rights of our members. And I never stood alone.

I worked alongside three incredible women – Maddy Harradence, Nicole Allan and Sam Casey. I know them well. I’ve seen their dedication firsthand. I’ve watched them stand up for us when it mattered most: not for recognition, but because they truly care.

Now these three women are standing for office. They are not politicians; they are nurses and midwives, just like us. They understand the pressures we face on the floor. They know what it feels like to be short-staffed, overworked and undervalued. And they are ready to fight for us – not just in meetings, but where it matters most: in policy, in action and at the heart of our union.

We need to give them our full support.

This is our chance to back people who will put members first – who will listen, act, and never forget what it means to wear the uniform.

I believe in Maddy. I believe in Nicole and I believe in Sam.”
