FOR BRANCH COUNCILLOR
He/Him
I’m a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Grampians Health and have been a Job Rep since 2015 and a Branch Councillor since 2023.
I was born in Zimbabwe and trained in the UK. I’ve been a nurse for 22 years. I work in a hybrid interventional cardiology and radiology lab as well as managing a registry database of people having coronary stents and implantable defibrillators.
I became a nurse because the ability to have the skill, knowledge and compassion to look after others during their time of need gave me fulfilment like no other. I believe I have made and continue to make a difference.
I joined ANMF because I understand the impact that union solidarity, safe staffing, workplace safety, and fair pay have on our ability to provide safe patient care and job satisfaction. I became a delegate because I love helping colleagues access their EBA entitlements and bringing their motions to the annual delegates conference. I know when members work together, we can fix systemic and local workplace issues.
I participated in the Belinda Morieson Program, spending three weeks embedded with ANMF (Vic Branch) staff in Melbourne and Ballarat. It gave me a real understanding of the breadth of the union’s work with members.
Every member matters. I will bring my critical care nursing expertise and attention to detail to the governance role. If re-elected, I will work so that every member in every workplace is properly recognised, remunerated, and protected and that’s why I am asking you to vote for the Maddy Harradence Team.
