I am a paediatric nurse. I did my grad year in 1997 in general medical paediatrics and that is where I have stayed. I love it. I love playing with the kids but more than that I love getting to know different families, educating and empowering them while supporting them through the challenges of having a sick child in hospital. I believe I am a strong advocate for the children and families I look after and I know I can also be an advocate for my nursing colleagues.

I became a Job Rep and Branch Councillor in 2019, and let's just say I had a crash course in ANMF. I was inspired by the history of the ANMF and all that had been achieved by previous EBA campaigns. I wanted to learn more, I wanted to become involved and help continue to improve conditions for nurses and midwives.

Every member matters. I am proud to say I am a Branch Councillor. I take the role seriously and I would be honored to be given the opportunity to continue in the role. I will provide the paediatric perspective at Branch Council, while advocating for all nurses, midwives and carers. That’s why I am asking you to vote for the Maddy Harradence Team.
