Emma Foreman
FOR BRANCH PRESIDENT
She/Her
I’m a Perioperative Clinical Nurse Specialist in Theatre at Western Health. I’ve been a nurse since 2015 in both the public and community sectors.
I joined the ANMF because I understood the power of people. I became a delegate in 2019 after discovering my ward was under ratio. I understood the implications for patient care and my colleagues. I care deeply about understaffing because every patient is someone’s family member and deserves the care we all want to give our patients. The issue, resolved with ANMF guidance and support from my colleagues, showed me that when nurses, midwives and carers stand together, we create the change we want to see.
I was appointed Vice President of the ANMF in 2023 and gained a wealth of knowledge under the leadership of our President, Maree Burgess, who has held the position for over 13 years.
Through my experience and passion for serving members, I have come to deeply understand that every member matters. Union leadership should reflect the members it represents. I live the same challenges, pressures and conditions as you – because I am one of you. As a 30-year-old public sector nurse, I understand the day-to-day struggles in our profession: understaffing, the rising cost of living, workloads and the sacrifices we make to deliver the care we believe patients deserve.
Every member matters. I’m committed to ensuring members aren’t just heard but prioritised. If elected President, I will continue to work with the Maddy Harradence Team, bringing our lived experiences to every conversation and decision. I stand not for you but beside you.
