Maddy Harradence, for ANMF (Vic Branch) Secretary

Maddy Harradence

FOR BRANCH SECRETARY

She/Her

I am a critical care nurse with experience working predominantly at St Vincent’s public emergency department. I have been ANMF (Vic Branch) Assistant Secretary since 2021 and Secretary since July 2025. In 2021 I became Victorian Trades Hall Council Vice President.

I became a registered nurse in 2009 in part because dad was a nurse. After my studies I moved to Melbourne so I could work with ratios.

I joined ANMF because I believe in the rights of workers. I was actively involved in the 2011/12 EBA campaign to save ratios and was inspired to become a delegate.

I was a Branch Councillor for five years before I joined the Branch in 2021 as an organiser for the Loddon Mallee and South East Melbourne regions. Alongside some incredible regional delegates and members, I raised serious ratio breaches and through these disputes I witnessed how members can win by organising around a collective issue.

I led the 2024 St Vincent’s Private EBA campaign, achieving pay parity with the public sector and improved staffing levels over the two-year agreement. These courageous private acute nurses and midwives took an unprecedented 104 days of industrial action, paving the way for future private sector campaigns.

Every member matters. Nurses, midwives and carers are central to healthcare. Every member deserves to be respected and properly remunerated. If elected, I will be accountable to members and bring my campaign experience, member focus and leadership every day. That’s why I’m asking for your vote for the Maddy Harradence Team.
