Nicole Allan
FOR ASSISTANT SECRETARY
She/Her
I became a registered nurse in 1992 and a midwife in 2002, and understand the privileged positions our professions hold.
As ANMF (Vic Branch) Acting Assistant Secretary, I have walked with and advocated for members during industrial action and shaped maternity care models – and I will continue to prioritise professional autonomy and safe staffing, expanding midwife/nurse-led models of care, better early-career support, stronger regional workforce and healthcare access, clinical safety and governance, and workforce initiatives to improve retention. Because I know that when nurses, midwives and carers are supported, the healthcare system thrives.
I joined ANMF in 2009 as an organiser, working across Eastern Health and Monash Health as well as statewide. I was the Branch’s Maternity Services Officer from 2018 until 2025, and have been Branch Assistant Secretary since 2025. I am also a member of the Victorian Maternity Taskforce, focusing on the complex challenges in our maternity and newborn services.
Every member matters. Nurses, midwives and carers are the heart of the healthcare system. If elected, I’m committed to putting members’ voices at the centre of policy, practice and reform – because wherever nursing or midwifery is discussed, we must be at the table. That’s why I’m asking for your vote for the Maddy Harradence Team.
