Sam Casey
FOR ASSISTANT SECRETARY
She/Her
I wanted a challenging and rewarding career, and being an ICU nurse and a unionist has certainly delivered.
I have been working in the role of ANMF (Vic Branch) Assistant Secretary since 2024. I was part of the 2024 general public sector bargaining team that secured industry leading wage increases for members. I know member power and the ANMF’s industrial expertise will continue to improve our working lives.
I joined ANMF as a student nurse in 2012, and became a Job Rep at St Vincent’s Private in 2016 because I’m proud of the work nurses, midwives and carers do – it’s worth fighting to protect and progress.
I joined the Branch in 2018 as an organiser, working across the private acute, public (Monash Health) and aged care sectors. As a result of working with members to help resolve workplace disputes and individual matters, I undertook a postgraduate qualification in employment and labour law. I became a professional officer in 2021, responsible for the digital health and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency portfolios. In this work I have assisted hundreds of members with AHPRA notifications, compliance matters, education and registration issues.
Every member matters. We need continued strong leadership for our union and members. If elected, I will use my leadership skills, professional experience and knowledge of employment and labour relations law, and work tirelessly to deliver for all members. That’s why I’m asking for you to vote for the Maddy Harradence Team.
